For
issue 24 Scheherazade has grown to A4 size with a full colour cover.
We have always wanted more space, bigger print and a chance for our
artists to show off their colour work so we've decided to go for it.
Inevitably this means an increase in cost, both for production and
postage, and this is reflected in our new charges. Unlike many other
magazines we receive no grants of any kind and still manage to pay
our writers a small fee.
We hope you like the change and feel the extra money well spent. BUT
if you are an existing subscriber and you renew before 1st January
2003 you can have your subscription of three copies for only £8.50*.

This
edition takes its theme from our first story Scheherazade in Hell,
by one of Britain's most distinguished fantasy writers, Tanith Lee.
We include a tale of hellish Chinese bureaucracy, by award-nominated
Liz Williams; a demonic shaggy dog story by Alexander Glass and visions
of future hells by Lyn McConchie and Hugh Cook. Nigel Brown gives
us insights into William Hope Hodgson's classic nightmare tale "The
Night Land". Liz Williams interviews Patricia Kennealy Morrison,
author of the "Keltiad" series.
